Any opinions on how good these work in a noisy truck? I got a new cell phone and trying to decide on what kind of headpiece to get. There's a headset they sell in the truckstops that I was using last year that worked really well.

Do the bluetooth earpieces produce enough volume with all the road noise and rattling in the truck?

Mine works great! I have the Motorola earpiece w/ the small boom mic. People never have a problem hearing me, and I can hear them just fine.

My phone is the Motorola Razr V3 (Verizon).

*had to fix this post... some type of weird error, I guess!

The one I have the volume is good. But because the mic is so far from my mouth it picks up A LOT of road noise that transmits to the guy on the other end of the line. I'm assuming if you had one with a longer boom that put the mic closer to your mouth it would not have to be nearly so sensitive to pick up the voice.

I've got a Blue Parrott and it works great for reducing noise in the truck. Only problem with 'em that I've come across is for some reason the speaker will just quit working. Others will be able to hear u, but u won't hear them. I have had to replace two headsets in just over 2 months time. This last time I also bought a headset from the Interstate Connection, found in several T/A's and Petros across the US, that is also Bluetooth and has a noise canceling boom mic. This headset is packaged in clear molded plastic with a paperboard inside it with Interstate Connection's logo on it. I have no idea who manufactures it, but so far it's been just about as good as the Blue Parrott. Said one of my friends regarding this "generic" headset, "It's not a crystal clear as the Blue Parrott, but I'm not struggling to hear you at all. And the noise in the cab of your truck is non-existent"

Thanks for the info. After doing a search, I'd like to try this one out. But I really don't want to spend $119.95. I think Interstate you can get a refund within 30 days if you don't like their product. With something like this, I'd like to try out 3 or 4 before making a decision. But it's a big hassle going through returns and refunds, especially, if you order online. This one also could get you pulled over having both of your ears covered.

I would strongly advise against one of these headsets simply because of it covering both ears. It's illegal because it's unsafe. It's dangerous enough talking on the phone while driving even with a headset, don't make it worse by using one of these.

yeah screw a stereo headset. dangerous, not to mention, you do have a regular am/fm/xm whatever radio in the truck already, right?

i have a blue parrott proper telemarketer looking headset and it works great. the audio quality rules. the speaker is actually loud enough to hear. way louder than any wired headset i have ever had. i dont even know what the highest volume sounds like on this thing i have never needed to turn it up that loud but it seems like it could get way louder.
and i am told the mic sounds crystal clear
battery lasts a long time, fits comfortable, easy to use charger, the works.

This Blue Parrot device looks like the wireless version of the headset I had for my last phone. This would definetely be my choice, however, it's kind of pricy.
