1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

They are the former Commercial Carrier Corp? Famous for changing your engine on your lease/purchase truck over the weekend without telling you.

what the hell are you talking about? comcar is not actually a trucking company - it's the parent company of 5 trucking companies, several of which have terminals all over florida. I worked for CT Transportation for over 2 years. and I made a hell of a lot more than $90 a day. and runs from jax to ft myers in one day? 680 miles round trip? sure, OK.

I worked for Dewey Enterprises back then and we were hauling beer as a backhaul just to get us back to the Ft. Myers area so that we could load produce in Immokolee. We were doing it for $120 a load and Comcar stepped in and underbid it to $90. The Comcar guys were actually doing this with day cabs at first! Then when the company realized that you can't physically do a round a day they started to use trucks with sleepers. I had a friend that was doing it and he got burned out on it and switched back to hauling concrete powder in a pneumatic for them. He told me that it definitely wasn't worth it.

Wasn't me. I never worked for them. Scarey looking junk in the 80's.

That was told to me by one of their lease/purchase guys.
