Ive been out of the seat for 15 years and live in SoCal. Class A still current with no preventables or tickets. Getting hazmat, doubles and tank endorsements in a year. Are there any companies willing to hire someone thats been driving city transit most of their life and have done OTR for 8 months. Really dont wanna go to a mega and start all over again, but im afraid thats my only choice till I get some current experience under my belt.

Just put your feelers out there & make a few calls to the companies you're interested in. They will let you know whether they can work with you are not. It is the insurance industry that calls the shots. It is the liability thing that comes into play. You have no current experience with the big truck. All the best to you on your journey.

Transit_lifer you've been procrastinating for a long time; years maybe, so why aren't you driving big rigs yet?

Pride Transport will, You would, at a minimum have to go through a 50 hour evaluation, where you go out with a mentor or evaluator. Give recruiting a call and they can give you all the particulars.

So when are you going to retire or lose your mind? $30 an hour would be hard to walk away from. I'm sure the benefits and being home everyday would be hard to give up too.
