I was behind a truck today that was a hair slower than I was.
I did not pass because it would have taken too long.
Even if I used my extra 2mph passing speed, he was a little better on the hills. It simply did not make sense for me to do it. We would have been leap frogging each other forever.

There are trucks going 63, and when I go to pass they speed up to match my speed when I get next to them.
Traffic piling up behind me, and this jerk is out to make some point?
I'll give it the extra 2, and he does the same, keeping us in lock step.
Then I have to slow down enough to get back behind him, slowing all that traffic behind me in the process, and when I do get in back he slows it down to 63 again.

And I will back off to 60 to let someone pass very often.
Those that ride my bumper for 20 miles before they finally decide to go around... maybe not.

I am not one of the rude drivers.

You get the same thing even at 75 with some drivers. Had a tanker out of Cali today that couldn't match me up hills, but he would speed downhill and then set his cruise back at 65. I had mine set at 68, and gave it a good bump when I passed. After I gave ample room I came over, set her back at 68, and 5 minutes later he came by me, only to set cruise at 65 again. Some people are just jacksasses.

    And I wonder...
    Why?

What is the point they are trying to make?

Maybe that I should be doing 65 like him? I don't know the 1st time I brushed it off, the 2nd time I just took an exit and got cheap fuel.

Some of these companies have the trucks set to allow the driver to go 65 only on cruise control but when they use their foot they can only go 60-62.

Combine that idiocy with the collision avoidance garbage and the fact that the driver has no control over acceleration above 60mph so what else can they do other than change lanes or allow the truck to slow them down 5mph every time somebody passes and moves back over under 300ft?

I hate taking an extra break, but sometimes it is better than putting up with those people.

I have 65 on cruise and 63 without.
Using PassSmart I can bump it up to 67 for up to 30 minutes per day.

And it isn't the collision avoidance system that makes me back down on speed, it is the following too close for too long sensor thingy.

My safety score is usually between 0 and 2, while they want us to stay under 20.
There are other metrics involved in the score, like hard braking events or hard cornering.
20 seems a bit generous, but some drivers can not manage even that.

Pain in the but-t that it can be, Swift does try to keep drivers safe and responsible with this system.
And with all the anti-Swift stuff out there, who can blame them?
    Not me, for sure.
