CFI Driver's What's Your 20? (2017 edition)

Holy crap! How you been man ! Haven't heard from you in a while

 

Yep still alive. No longer with CFI though. Had a series of stuff go down back in June and had to walk away from the company. Finally getting ready to get back into the saddle now that i got all my documents renewes but I really don't think I will go back to CFI. Got a lot of the branded clothes and stuff bit the low pay, lack of some truck amenities and OTR in general is discouraging me from returning. I would consider it if I could get one of those cush regional or dedicated spots but I don't have the seniority to expect that.

So I am looking at other options currently. I do miss CFI a little though. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them or anything. I thought the training I received was excellent and most of the time I was treated well, but Its just time for me to move onto something a little more close to my preference or at least the next stepping stone.

 

That's where we were lol it's an amazing starter company.

 

It is sad. I did all this research and thought I knew what to expect when I started this journey and it was still a tough as nails roller-coaster with some awesome highs but some aweful lows. That said I miss driving and it is my most marketable job skill that is the easiest on my back. My factory and manual labor days a long behind me.

2020 in general was an aweful year so I got some strong ambition to make this a great year. Still open to learning new stuff and hope I find my niche in the trucking world cause there is a lot of different kinds of hauls and such.

 

You going solo this time?

 

Yep, wife stepped down from the road. It was just too much for her. She said she may come back under the right circumstances but it would have to be tested out by me mostly first.

Ah ya good ol' Laredo. My wife was super fond of that food truck there. Great food and good value.

 

Can't say I blame her. It's rough haha. We just recently left the fedex gig. Not enough running for my taste far too much sitting.
