NY only needs the $1.25 sticker on the front of the truck

That's all I have. Nice and simple. I haven't put a truck number on it, but I swear I read you're supposed to have one?[/QUOTE]

Unit number is more for customers to keep save in the computer, especially if you are somewhere you have to scale in, I believe you do need something to identify which truck you are using for is logs and maintainable records but a plate or vin would work as well 09647987-D01E-4056-B8B4-149357645072.jpeg

Colorado requires vin if your truck is plated there. If not, they like you to have it, and may bring you into the scalehouse a lot more if you don't have it, but you don't have to put it on there. And if you do have it, you only need it on the passenger side.

I guess this is as good a place as any to help out my fellow driver, but mostly because crooked mailbox letters are a pet peeve of mine.

Step 1: Go to (any vinyl graphics company .com). Just Google Vinyl graphics. They all have a handy dandy tool for choosing a font, formatting and pricing what you want. It's so easy even my uneducated butt did it.
Step 2. Order two sets, might cost you a total of $50, wait one week and they'll be on your doorstep
Step 3. Get some masking tape and a tape measure and map out where you want them on the truck.
Step 4: Use the 'alternative method' they suggest for applying them using some soapy water so you can squeegie out the bubbles and/or move them if you screw up. Apply them in daylight somewhere that the wind isn't blowing.

Yeah, you'd think all of this was logical but from what I see everyday.......

I've seen some real nice trucks lately with temp plates and crooked decals. Never understood why you'd buy a truck like that, and not take the time to put them on straight.

I have run in both in CO and KY and I do not have the numbers on the truck. The last time is was in CO I was inspected, and told "have a nice day". No mention that the VIN wasn't on the truck.

Were you plated in Colorado, or in another state?

I am not plated there. I was giving support to what @kemosabi49 said.

If you are leased to carrier and want you own name on the truck also, you need to add "Operated By" to the carriers name etc, so the DOT will know who is responsible for the insurance etc. Iowa is about the only state that writes tickets for this.

This truck speed limited to 55 mph.
I see this on a few trucks in California and it helps me as I know not to get behind them.

I see them on the back of the large grocery chains, but those guys get paid by the hour and they’re usually not in any big hurry anyways.
