I was more or less poking fun at all the posts on TTR about fuel mileage and how to improve it.

I thought you probably were. I will pinch a Penny until it screams some days but I also realize it takes spending money to make more money other days.

I totally agree with your statement. It is a big world and what works for me as a one truck operator may not work for a mega. What I do also may not work for someone pulling a trailer for a set mileage rate.

You summed up my operation perfectly. I think i get closer to 4mpg in the winter, otherwise, we run the same. Lol

Lots of myths and rumors about bull haulers here. Lots of em are idiots the same as in any other segment of this industry. Lots of them have the most ragged equipment on the road, and cant find their ### with both hands and a road map. These fellas are not bull haulers merely wanna bes. Also there is no set maximum time they can be on the wagon.

The good hands slip around almost like a ghost... no one really ever sees or notices them

Funny. That video popped up the other day on my phone and low and behold it was Anthony an old friend of the family from Sweetwater running front door. His dad ran with my uncle for years. Fast and hard!

Fastest I ever drove loaded was 85 with a load of propane. Tx 130 toll road. I decided that was a bit too fast and backed off to 75 lol -

I know right. Don't really matter much running 1400-1600 miles a week. Im anywhere from upper 7s running the speed limit or down in the low 6s if i hammer down. I'd rather not be aggravated trying for maximum mpg all day. As long as I stay above 6mpg

I’ve never driven a truck faster than 80 but I’ve done triple digits plenty of times in the passenger seat. Going up through Monahans and Comanche in the wee hours of the morning is a scary thrill. If we went through Brownwood then we’d have to try and keep up with one of the Thornhill clan or the KTA bunch out of Tye. Whoa baby!

Drove a few cars in my younger days and buried 120 mph speedos. Don’t anymore. Too many cars on the road in this area of the state now. Even at 2am its still rush hour.

And how many bales of hay have you seen scattered on 84 at the underpass between Early and Zephyr? When I was younger it never failed somebody didn't want to make an extra load, but forgot about that low clearance.
