ELD's use the same SAE data port a technician uses to access error codes for other purposes. Different locations on different trucks.

I have a 2000 t600 with a factory installed BK60 12.7 Detroit. The motor is amazing. Had it on the dyno at Pittsburgh Power and put 604hp and 2008ft/lbs of torque to the ground. It nets me 7.5-8.5 us mpgs. I'm looking at buying a 2011 t800 that already has a 1994 epa 12.7 Detroit in it. I would definitely swap my BK60 into the t800 but am wondering if it is legal to do so and will I still be exempt from elogs? Please help

I believe only if the tractor was built originally as a Glider Kit. If so yes still exempt but why don't you want a box telling you when you have 30 minutes of drive time left? What are you cheating? You have 15 minutes of drive time left better fill that DEF tank quick!

Does eld work with ddec 3? I was looking at a 1995 FLD, but I wasn't sure.
It would be nice to be exempt and also have the option to use eld if the carrier requires it. -
The_Great_Corn Thanks this.
