Anyone headed to the upper midwest in the coming week should prepare for unusually cold weather.
Today will be the warmest, at 10 above zero, for the next 8 days.
Coolest weather we've seen in a couple years.
Make sure you've got treated fuel and have survival gear should you become stranded.
High temps will be below zero and wind chills down to -50.

And the idiot news readers are claiming with the -50 degree wind chill, all the engines are going to freeze up. One gal said to leave your car running all night to keep it from freezing up.
Where do they get these people?

The only reason I let my car idle is because I want a warm interior and gas is cheap.
    If I had a beater I'd idle all winter...lol
Got a new battery this fall and fresh oil last month...I'm good.

    Another cool weekend up here.
I'm wearing 2 pairs of long underwear under my jeans.
Not the most comfortable attire for getting to the stops but once outside working I laugh at the cold... kind of...3 stops to the iron range tomorrow and they ain't offering hazard pay...
BTW boss whined cause I put in #1 w the #2 to get back to the twin cities..smh. Screenshot_20210211-083049_Google.jpg

Tell the boss would he rather pay for an expensive “rescue” or repair bill if the diesel gelled up?;)
Even with paraffin wax thrown into the mix sometimes winterized diesel fuel needs a little help to prevent gelling.

Cat sdp and Dennixx Thank this.
