Local tanker work is just ok.... still probably pays better then general freight. But everyone’s gasoline numbers are down. Which doesn’t help....

Guys that have been around for ever seem fine. But no new young people are starting up.......,.

And heating oil is just about extinct......

I got out of the truck OCT 1 last year. I was asking a record Year and we are absolutely slammed. We’re booked almost 3 weeks out right now.

Tank work is ok but the pay can be better qc right now my average for all miles including deadhead is about 1.64.... qc northeast terminals are getting alot of broker loads because all major customer took advantage of the situation last year and started renegotiating contracts not worth hauling

I’m with Dana and we have not skipped a beat throughout the pandemic. It only slowed down a bit around March and April when things were very uncertain. I however stayed busy out of my terminal because it’s one of the highest grossing in the company. Not all tanker companies are the same and no two terminals are the same in my experience. That plays into the amount of work available. But we’re rolling.

If you have a reliable truck, try Altom Transport, I've been there 5 yrs as company driver and just purchased a truck a couple months ago, doing very well and they have been looking for new O/O's for some new accounts. We have terminals in Pasadena TX, Lufkin TX, Lake Charles LA, Indianapolis IN, Hammond IN, Chicago IL, Buffalo NY, and Canada.

I made good money with them for a while. Then I started getting cheaper loads. I would say I was going to just head home. Then all of a sudden a good load would pop up. I got sick of it and quit. But now it's a different market so it might be good again.
