Hey all, well i've looking at various options to get a CDL-A and start trucking. I just can't afford a school and don't want to work for the big moving co's. I've been doing some moving jobs here in Michigan but it's really bad(like 2wks on 1 off, 1 week on- 3wks off etc) but i've landed a great job out-of-state with full-time work and it's also a moving company. They said my Chaffuers is fine, but I want to get the CDL-A and they love idea too cause they'll have another heavy hauler working for them.
Anyway I am in SE Michigan(Auburn hills, Waterford area) and was told I could take a road test with a dump(i'll need one with air brakes) and a back-ho trailer. So I was wondering where does one track that down and get a decent price(i'm pretty #### poor so I can't afford the $600+ rental fees driving schools want)?
If anyone is in my area and has a rig you could rent pm me and see what we can work out i'd be glad to talk to you.
I am ready to do the written test(going to do it next week), and then want to spend a day or two practicing and then take the test and hopefully get my CDL-A
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
