new to cargo vans

While I have NO clue about what you are looking for, I just wanted to suggest that there are trucking forums dedicated to just expediting. I can't post the link here, but if you google expediting forums, it will take you right to the top listing for that. Good luck.

 

I wouldn't try to break into expediting with a cargo van..the business is saturated with them..rates are down..not a great idea at this time.

 

Most expidite co's will require you to have a CDL no matter what you drive.

 

Thats not true for cargo or sprinters vans..I was looking into fleet owning sprinter vans..Every company I talked to said i could hire any non cdl holders for sprinters..

 

I've read that panther has vans following HOS now or are going to
They used to allow up to 16 hours of driving

 

Last time I talked to Tri-State and Land Star they required it. It was a while ago though.

 

I agree with you L.B. Both companies I ran for require you to carry a CDL B or CDL A. I am a owner operator < Cargo Van> that carries Class A w/HAZ MAT.

 

I have heard that there are several states that are trying to get vans to run logs and run through the scales. They claim that companies are running so many cargo vans and sprinters. So I would not be suprised if Panther has already started the logs.

 

The main reason expediters choose cargo vans is to avoid logging . With rates at $.70 a mile if Panther mandates logging and all the other carriers don't they'll lose a lot of cargo vans .
