Otherwise, it is unpleasantly cold in the Midwest but...to my surprise the rates are holding up. They did show some signs of weakness towards the end of January but I am booked again for the whole next week and until Tuesday in the week after. So far, this February seems as solid as January after all - quite a prospect to reach my quarterly goal of $50K in gross revenue by the end of this month already. Then I will slow down. I'll take it easy. I'll relax. I'll watch for Spring signs.
Perhaps, those rates could relax too and tamper some of that rush.
The new Cascadia wait list is there...if you order one today, maybe December...they say.

This week has been more of the same. Busy, harder to cover, and trying to find the magic numbers. Feels like we're about 50% over where we were at this time last year. Also the hottest start to a February I've ever had, which is also good.

Picking up my first load in almost 2 weeks tomorrow. Idled the truck for almost an hour today to charge things up, and greased my 5th wheel. Needs a wash badly. Still have lava rock stuck to the trailer and wheels from the last trip north.
My heart's just not in the game any longer. I'm researching the best way to get rid of my equipment and get out. Looking forward to working from home again.dwells40, kemosabi49, PPLC and 4 others Thank this. -
PM me when your ready to pull the trigger on selling the equipment. Although I hope you change your mind. I’m afraid Scooter ain’t far behind yah.PPLC, BoostedTeg, SteveScott and 2 others Thank this. -
I guess you're not interested in hiring drivers and going through all that nonsense...Brettj3876, PPLC, SteveScott and 1 other person Thank this. -
My other venture is working out well at this point. Because I'm in a position to do so, my plan is to keep my authority active, keep the truck and trailer parked and wait for at least a year before I pull the plug altogether.
I guess I could put someone in the truck and keep them busy, but I'm just not there at this point.Brettj3876, dwells40, Midwest Trucker and 4 others Thank this.
