Thank you for your service! My neighbor did the same, he just retired from Frito Lay a few years ago. He was part of the tet offensive

I have noticed quite an increase of PA(York/Breinigsville/Bloomsburg) and VA (Winchester/Baltimore) - Chicago rates this week - for me these are so called backhaul rates, meaning anything that get you back home ASAP. If you catch the right moment, you could even get something over $2000 to get back to Midwest. For instance, a year ago or even two - as a matter of fact for as long as I remember , I'd grab something for $1000 - 1200 and be happy about the fact there was actually something at all to put me back 20 - 50 miles away from my parking spot.
That's unprecedented, it must have something to do with the imbalance caused by all these trucks stuck in the High Plains due to winter weather earlier this week.

I booked today MD to Chicago for $3 per mile. It's just mind blowing, even in the height of 2017-2018 this lane never went up so high

Shhhhh. Somebody will come along and make fun of these “fake” rates.

We’re balls to the wall everyday. No complaints though. :)

I just paid $1400 on Chicago to Central Iowa for 250mi, and I was happy to get the load out.

I've been mostly playing the, "I'll find a truck and let you know what it'll be" game yesterday/today.

Like I said- I was happy about it.

Edit to add: I also run dry vans for this customer to and from that location.
