Been there, to costly. Few 100 less seems to be the trick.

1000 horsepower LOL. To think when I was in my mid-twenties I ran a 318 Detroit powered Autocar 4 axle tractor pulling a 4 axle detach through the mountains of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and a little bit of Ohio in New Jersey.

That wasn't big power back then, but it was far from being obsolete. I think that truck was 74 and this was the mid-80s.

Amquip crane had a similarly-sized brockway about the same vintage maybe even older will a 12v 71, that truck could kick my Autocar's ###. Even with the stock N65 injectors that 12v71 was almost 500 horsepower

How are the 3.08s and the 13 speed treating you in the hills

Just picked up my first load today about 40 miles from the house. No real hills here in Illinois.

Headed to Denver tomorrow across 36. Still no real hills that way either.

In 12 gear it feels essentially the same as before.

Just even on the short ride loaded back to the house I’m in LUST for sure.

The trip tomorrow will tell me the real story. 20FA2AF1-D21F-4641-ABDC-C524611B3897.jpeg Wish I didn’t have to load in a mud pit today. Guess it’s better than stuck in a snow bank?

I'd be happy around the 650 mark. No idea what it's at now but it's set up to where almost any idiot like me can drive it and not kill it. Long as you don't lug it below 1350. You can keep it to the floor and the pyro doesn't get over 1000 as long as it's 1400 or higher.

738 miles today. I was a little worried in Iowa on 80. I though man this thing should be pulling better than this.....

Passed by a windmill and looks like 40 or 50 mph headwind.....

Oh.... D9362377-ECD5-4DC2-A1C7-A52F5AAB184A.jpeg After I got into Nebraska everything kinda settled in. Drives nice. 73 mph in 12 or 13 no problem. Ran 75 for a while but didn’t feel right to me after 4 years being governed at 70 mph.
    Lol

Nice smooth ride and after the wind died down pulls exactly how I’d hoped it would. Only problem so far is the front diff temp gauge is not reading. I had problems with it before. I cut out a big chunk I though was the problem but I guess not? I put my hand on the diff the 2 times I stoped and it was fine.

    Tomorrow is another day.
