Well if this is where we post our stupid moments. I got one for today. I did a repower with another driver at a rest area this morning. Both of us in T680s. He's been out solo since November. So about 60 days longer than me. I find this out AFTER we swap trailers. So normally anytime I back up to a new trailer, since we have some Freightliners that sit higher, I check to be sure the trailer is low enough and I am not going to high hook. The one time I don't,. Driver I am swapping with has the trailer so jacked up that....you guessed it. I high hook it. Luckily for me it was an empty trailer. So I dumped my air bags and raised it up to clear. Afterwards I asked him if he dumps his air bags when he drops a trailer. He had no clue what I was talking about. Guess he didn't have as great of trainer when he was out there. So no damage, just my pride.

But it at least reminded me to not become complacent. I've drilled that into myself. Always look things over, always double check. Just this time I didn't. So lesson learned. At least it wasn't as hard of a lesson as it could have been. If I was getting his trailer. Well let's say I would have gotten a workout. It was 0ver 76k gross weight of National Beef.

Rickem frackem summa brichwood 2 and half hours and a huge mess to change the fuel filters on the ram. Ridiculous the drains that don’t drain and the stupid placement made this a chore.

My 2020 Cascadia doesn't have an airbag dump. I make sure to check my trailer height every time.

Some corporate idiot didn't think it was necessary. I am sure they are probably rethinking that decision. I have seen a couple of brand new trucks suffer a lot of damage trying to get out from under it.

I have seen only one driver who did it and crawled back into his sleeper till maintenance came in and jacked up the trailer. He text the terminal manager @ 4am to say he high hooked & was waiting for maintenance. He came in at 8 & told the driver no big deal & thanks for not tearing up the equipment. That was the the only time it was discussed. No safety, no write up.

    I miss my Volvo.

16K for an inframe?! on an ISX.....
The head needs done as well. not just a liner and piston change with a bearing roll.
as well as the oil cooler. and possibly the fuel pump and all the misc little ####s that will have a ton of wear on them.......

Out here a cummins reman head was around 10K on its own. ( dont remember how much a useable core got back )
