Seeing some stories saying gliders now need to have phase II emissions, which I guess means like 2004 compliant with EGR. How accurate is this info, and what's your thoughts on buying one of these fresh from a glider maker versus going with a used glider without EGR.

Pretty sure all of the OEMs stopped selling glider kits in 2019-2020.

Peterbilt and Kenworth stopped sales of the glider assembly.
Freightliner and Western Star are still available.
Thompson Cat in Memphis and D and B in Kentucky have them listed in
    the truck paper.

Who knows what they are doing, they don’t know themselves, it’s all based on their feelings

I still believe you are better off holding an actual old title truck

I guess if you’re crazy enough to pay for them you can still get one. Several 21 Petes on TruckPaper. B3F3EB3A-CD9C-4268-A1B1-8E4FF2E4B129.jpeg 7712A359-9957-408F-809B-0B19AF214DB9.jpeg

I had heard 2020 was the last year for any gliders and even said that as fact on here several times. Sorry about the “fake news” lol. I went on TruckPaper to prove I was right and actually proved I was wrong.

    Coffey Thanks this.

you can still build gliders, but at some point they are changing over to the truck having to meet model year emissions instead of engine year emissions, so you can still buy them for their original purpose of putting good parts off a wreck onto the new chassis, just needs the emissions

now how much that is followed who knows

DoubleO7, Coffey and OldeSkool Thank this.
