To make it more interesting what if he was in one of these? It pretty much tracks like a pickup with a small trailer. I will turn from any lane and I don’t worry about clipping a curb or another 4 wheeler

If road your turning left onto has 2 or 3 lanes. You still turn left into the nearest lane to center of road. Because they can get you for switching lanes in intersection. The other problem is someone else could be coming from other way and they might turn right on red light or maybe you did not see them or they did not see you. They will be expecting you to stay in your lane and turning into left into nearest lane in center of the road. So your basically leaving them a way out to avoid accident if something goes wrong. They will have the one or two open right lanes to avoid hitting you.Last edited: Mar 7, 2021

I use the outside lanes to make left turns.
That allows me to see if anyone is turning inside and I can miss them.
Right turns depend on how long I am and may require a keyhole maneuver or taking up 2 lanes and waiting for a clear path if I need to get into the left turn lane as well to make the corner.
Patience and signals usually work. They will make room for you.GYPSY65 Thanks this. -
And I get chewed out for not liking teams.
As the mods convinced me, this is an educational site, and yes, the same questions will be asked over and over. For left turns, I always thought, turn lane to closest lane to the island ( if divided), then make your lane change to the right when you can.

get yourself one of these to remind yourself.D.Tibbitt and austinmike Thank this. -
What are you driving? Everyone loves telling you how the only way to do it is the way they do it with a ~220” wheel base wanna be cab over with a closed tandem trailer, which 99% of the time will not do a #### thing if you have a ~300+” wheel base hood with a spread or a triaxle trailer.
go slow and hang back, let all the idiots fly around you and slowly take all the room you need to maneuver and watch your mirrors, try to stay in your current lane, if there’s two lanes I usually take the outer one since that’s where you usually end up anyways, unless you want to advertise to everyone you can’t drive and curb the tiresGYPSY65 Thanks this. -
Oh man lol that right hand turn thread was epic haha

Go straight as far as you can then turn left into the right lane.
Remember the perfect turn is when you don't hit anything. ( Works for backing too)Bean Jr. Thanks this.
