I just checked my credit report, and while I have been paying on my CR England student loan, it's not being reported as a debt in good standing on my credit report. Heck, it's not on my credit report at all. It's been a couple of months now, and should be on my credit report, after all, they are a credit reporting company, and state such many times over. That makes me wonder if they only use their "credit reporting" side as another weapon to hammer people while they are down/leave the company.
Anyone have a clue about this being legal or not? -

Oh yeah, incase you didn't know, you get a free credit report each year. Check it out yourself. -
Sounds like its only purpose is to put the screws to those that default. It may not be a loan, but if you default on it they report it to a credit agency, it shows bad on you, and its up to the person to fight to get it off. Their objective was meant, screw with us, we will return the favor.

You know, I really just don't feel like returning to the company at all...
I'm really tired.

England might be tough to work for and might milk what they can out of folks but let me get this straight- they fronted you tuition to get you started and now you want them to help you with your bad payments record elsewhere because they are deducting what you owe them from your pay? Why should you get browny points for this? If folks like them England boys did not front some of you tuition money, Mcdonalds would be payin less for burger flippers. Some of y'all have that yankee union welfare king attitude which makes it impossible for the little man to put on a second truck.
I'm I misunderstanding you?venne Thanks this. -
I can see condocassanova's point. If I were to front the money and train you and then you leave and did not finish the time frame to repay my only recourse is to report you as a bad credit risk, however I am under no obligation to improve your credit standing I am training you for a job. It may sound shabby from the point that yes if you default on us we will hook you up.

I make good on my payments for nothing, but I leave and bug out and don't pay anything and they hurt ya more. I signed a loan, and it isn't being legally reported as one through a credit reporting company, but whenever it suits them, it's used as a tool to harm? Maybe where you come from people don't report loans to the legal companies (loan sharking) and charge a high percent on the return.
It's funny how you bring up "Yankee Welfare" because the US Government gives CR England $5000 in tax credits to train each person, with a bonus if they are from a low income area (and then lowering the unemployment rate)
I know this may seem complex to a person like you, but that's what I'd call a sweet deal. -
this thread is going in the wrong direction. it seems that condo and sad panda just can't see eye to eye. you two should just agree to disagree. and read sharkeys' post. it acctually makes sense and sounds like he sumed it all up in a nutshell. now you 2 shake hands and stop arguing over nothing.

WHere I come from, paying your debts is not "for nothing" but what honorable people do, period. What do the tax credits have to do with YOU paying what you owe?
If you have credit problems because of things that are not under your control like illness, accidents, disasters etc, I'm sorry but if you have credit problems because you did not pay what you owed just because you did not feel like it or you bought lots of "stuff" that you could not afford, I say work two jobs and pay it off. Some folks get into trouble though no fault of their own.
As for England and the others, I'd recommend just getting the deal in writing up front and shopping around. Trucking companies are a business and are not "out to get you" WHy start a new job with that attitude from the get go. Who does it really hurt if you start with all them negative feelings? Also, I did not say "yankee welfare", I said "union yankee welfare"
Best of luck to you and I hope it works out and you do well and are HAPPY at what you do. You do right take pride in that and pray for the guy who does you wrong and YOU will have the power. Again, best of luck.
