Just like the title says. Maybe its just me, but 9 times out of 10, it really makes it hard to understand somebody with an echo so bad like there talkin from the bottom of a well.

If you grew up with a bucket on your head, the echo box is definitely safer so you can see where you are going!

Someone starts talking to me with echo, I tell them that I do not talk to people with it. They continue, I just ignore them.

My connex 4300 HP has eco and reverb. Both are turned off. You get many more kudos for a nice sounding setup with these things turned off then you do with them turned on.

If someone calls me on the radio and they have the eco turned on and up, I just say I can't understand them, please turn the eco off. If they do then I will answer them. If not then I ignore them.

I wish radios had ignore functions so that they will ignore incoming signals that eco and beep.

The echo, if set properly, can actually help enhance your voice. The problem is most truckers think "lets crank her all the way to the right and start talking". Once you do that, you sound like you're over repeating yourself inside a long tunnel, then no one will understand you.

Only a slight touch of echo is all you need.

If your voice needs enhancing then maybe you have something wrong with the way you sound.

    Leave it off period.

Echo or actually "reverb"....is better used in music production/reproduction...not on your CB....why does one need to enhance their voice???

Next some idiot will get the "bright" idea to use DSP on cell phones.....
