Well the load to Combined Locks, WI was fun.
It took an extra half an hour to find the way in, using both my RM GPS and the QC.
There are some signs pointing the way, but at some point they just stop being there.
No QC directions and no phone number to call.
And the place is a mud pit, with a very full drop lot.
I'll avoid anything there in the future.
Then I do this short Costco run to Coon Rapids, MN.
Well a short 80 mile loaded, but 300 empty.
They surprised me with a refer load. Nothing was said in the pplan.
It turned out to be a live unload because they had expected me to take a pallet load back to Owatonna, but I had a different load lined up.
That happens a lot with these Owatonna Costco loads. They are always expecting me to take a loaded trailer out of there back to Owatonna, when I have been planned on something else.
I wish Swift and Costco could get things straight between them and us. I get the feeling that the request from the store for the load out comes an hour before I get there.

I've been home for a few days. Today I had to go to the DMV to change my address.
Well, yesterday we went to the Apple Valley location because my sister thought the one in Burnsville required an appointment. It was so crowded with a long line outside that we decided to try today.
Burnsville does accept walk-ins I found out, so we went there today.
That was the nicest DMV visit I have ever had.
Outside the office in the lobby (they share the building with the library) they had a greeter that got us set up with the forms and gave us a pager, and instructed us to fill them out in the car.
We had to run back home because Laura needed one more address verification, so that eased the wait time.
It was about a 45 minute wait before we were paged back in, and about 5 minutes to be called to the window.
The clerk had us both come up and she processed both of us at the same time, which took about 15 minutes.
This is the first time I have actually enjoyed the new restrictions from the virus.
It is a well thought out and very efficient system they have in place now, and I hope they keep it even when the restrictions are lifted. -
Same thing in Texas, I had to do my medical card a few months back. Setup appointment at a website, got same day just an hour later. Walked in and the people took my medical card and license right at the door as I signed a info sheet, lady at door walked up to computer and updated on the spot. Like in and out in 5 minutes, was excellent.

Beto Junction, KS at the TA.
After a 5.5 hour live unload at a grocery place I went to pick up my next load.
It was supposed to have been loaded by 1200. I got there at 1645 and it still wasn't ready.
Another hour wait for that load.
By the time I had the load my 14 was too short to make it to Edwardsville where I'm t-calling it.
Just one of those days. -
On a side note ... Did the Qualcomm stop your 14 after 2 hours when you were off duty? -
Should it have? -
he does it a few times if he has to wait for me -
