I still think Roehl has potential under certain circumstances for certain people....
They are not the worst for sure...:biggrin_2554:

I think thats a compliment. Not sure.

Probably not. Just make sure you don't think DSR's are your friends. There is no open door policy. And MAKE sure you document everything and keep records of everything.

I was a compnay driver for over two years, first I ran national out of Ellenwood Ga and then I moved to Texas and ran 7/4-7/3 out of Garland. The a few months ago I bought my own truck and became a O/O with Roehl. All you had to do was look at older post and you would have known I wasn't a recruiter. If they were so bad I sure wouldn't have spent $40,000 on a truck and then signed on with them as a owner operator. What do you think?

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

Thanks! I feel stupid that I did not figure that out...guess I did not think it would be that simple.

I had read three months ago how great this company was. Now I do not get that feel.

    What Happened?

Dont feel stupid. It was a fair question. :biggrin_25520:

All of us at one point in life need to learn acronyms....Someone told me I suppose at one point. I still like Roehl, and while I already have my CDL and stuff, they are one of 2 companies I am still considering for 2010, when I plan on going back to trucking.

I hear good and bad. Sometimes its the company, sometimes it's the driver. I guess it's up to us to sift through the murk and make our own conclusions...

Nothing is perfect. Roehl seems to offer the most choices (if you live fairly close to a terminal) with their OTR/Regional/HomeTime programs. If home time is important to you then then 7/4-3 program or the 7/7 program is a good bet. Of course being home that often means less take home pay. I have 2 friends that are on the 7/4-3 team and they are home when expected, 99% of the time. Sometimes a day early, sometimes a day later, but since people all share the same truck, they need to get you home so the next guy can head out....

7/4-3 for me would be flat bed. I would probably go with Regional instead. I dunno though.

Just do as much research as you can and try and spend time with people that work for the company your looking into...Not on a forum, but in person. Roehl actually told me to meet their drivers at truck stops and ask THEM how THEY like it, instead of taking a recruiter's word for it.

i have received pm's asking if i would recommend roehl to a new driver .... i do not consider myself able to recommend one company over another because
    1) i have only driven for 2 companies first company back in 2003/2004 and i took 5 years off before coming back this year.
    2) everyone's situation is different. what may be important to me may not be a big deal to someone else.
