It clogs my load board all day. East coast to CA for $1-1.50 a mile.
Who is taking these loads? If no one takes them, why are they posted?
I dont mean 1 or two loads, I am talking dozens, for every location I am at each day.
Who is pulling all of this coast to coast reefer for $1.10 a mile?

My guess is they're just going fishing for the occasional driver who has a specific destination in mind but doesn't want to go empty. Not sure what their fee is for posting loads but I bet it wouldn't take too many of those cheap covers to make posting them all worthwhile. And if you ever booked a nice load and then had it cancel, there's a fair chance that you lost it to something like that. Get it covered at market rate, then post for cheap on a fishing expedition. Win or tie, can't lose.

An independent California or Northeast based team would get probably $8k-10k heading east and $4k coming back.
A well oiled team could leave Monday and get back Friday night Saturday morning.
It wouldn’t be that hard to talk a team into making $8000-$10000 each per month with weekends off.
I live in south Texas and it’s a fight to get a good rate home. So many drivers get the good produce rate out of Texas and take it in the shorts to get back home.James j Thanks this. -
Who do you think is taking those loads? Take a wild guess.

I’ve been watching reefers load for TX where I’ve been loading my fry freight. I’m surprised cause I typically got 3$/mi out of NJ heading to Detroit/chicago when I ran my reefer. Guess many don’t feel like doing the work of multiple short runs? Honestly as long as someone takes those and doesn’t clog up the lanes I run, fine by me. Remember that each one of us have a definition of cheap, to some they need that for whatever reason.

If it’s like the auto broker business the loads don’t even exist.
They post up really cheap freight to see how many inquiries they get at a given rate.
They like to see how ridiculously low they can go and still get phone calls.
Then the brokers use that “ market research” to quote customers cheap shipping rates that hopefully undercuts other brokers.
In the end it’s just a race to the bottom.Pete jockey, scoobertdoo, feldsforever and 9 others Thank this. -
