Echo logistics

I ran a load for these guys on 2-3-21. I was not given a BOL from the shipper nor the broker. So as I have had to do dozens of times over the years I wrote, "Rec'd" and drew a line on the rate con next to the item description and had the receiver sign. All went well with the load and I let my broker know that we had no BOL and that I would get sig on my con.

Here we are 3-16-21 and I call to inquire about payment and get this: "Oh we process our paperwork through India and they didn't like it".

Wait. WTH!!? Did I work for them!? WOW.

I am friggin livid man. Not that it is super late but because had I not called them they would have just simply not paid and they let India decide what happens!!

I assure you ALL when I cross over to the other side (brokerage) you carriers be treated like gold.....nothing less.

 

I had no idea it was a violation. Wow. Still learning after all these years.

I do kinda have a blank one....a blank area on my billing document I use. At the bottom I have a blank spot for description and a line for sig but I have never used it. I always just have them sign the rate con right next to the description of what I am hauling and/or next to the receiver address.

 

I have never been asked for BOL that I can recall. It may have slipped my memory since 1994 though.

 

LOL I went direct to receiver via email and got a signed BOL prettty quicky and resubmitted. I did this instantly.

Not getting paid was never a option here. You would have to be real real bad at business to accept that. As a matter of FACT...before that happened humans would be visited by me. I am a big angry man and I would either be leaving with my money or in cuffs.....period....end of story.

 

Now I am hearing from a good knowledgeable broker friend of mine that Echo is having financial issues and will probably get purchased by another brokerage.

So be aware of that if they call you for a load.
