Surprised the roof didn’t cave in. Years ago NJ was writing tickets for that. They expected a driver to get up and clear the snow off. I would be like “nope, call OSHA and see what they think of me climbing on a trailer to clear snow.”

We were advised to stop and see if a TA or Petro could clean off our trailers during the big storms last month. Virginia was writing tickets. One of my pickup DC's had a device you drove under and it cleaned off the snow. Was probably 14 feet high.

    Weird last 2 days.

Take that “busy” load of dog food to Cheyenne. DM calls once to say the DC wasn’t ready to take trucks. Then called back and said go ahead on in today (Thursday) then calls again and says don’t bring it in today . Take it Friday morning after the shipper and receiver iron things out.

They did just have 3 feet of snow. So I’m not upset. I understand they may not have the space.

Get up this morning (Friday) get the green light to drop the trailer in there. Get to the dc. No can do. Call DM. he says hang tight, no big deal. After 2 hours he says to bring it back to the shipper, they’ve wasted FCCs time and my time. Bring it back to them.

Hour later get a message saying take it to our Lincoln drop yard. Can’t drop it back off at original shipper. 10-4

Drop the load in Lincoln, bobtail an hour up to Fremont. My flatbed load is waiting for me on the yard (From Valley NE) going to Brenham TX. It’s a load of pipe.

All in all, it gave me an extra 800-1000 miles on my paycheck to take a shower in Burns WY and fuel up at Bosselman’s twice. But still a weird way to do it.

FCC is advertising in my area, Tri Cities Tennessee, but it appears to be only for flat bed. Do you guys drive either van or skateboard or both depending upon the load? Thanks.

Sometimes the flatbed guys will hook to a van, but not vice versa

I live 20 mins from Knoxville and each time I’ve pulled a van, I was given the option not to. But to me, miles are miles. The occasions I have, first time was to get me my initial home time upon hiring (they had a load planned for me to start with, shipper didn’t get all the pieces in time) and the subsequent 2 loads to get me back to a flat. And just recently to have something to do since I got ahead of my preplans. For getting home next Thursday

(I will say, even with FCC in giant letters on the side of the trailer, you van drivers don’t like seeing my silver truck pulling one, only 1 driver out of 25-30 on i80 has waved the past 2 days. ;) )

Good luck in Cheyenne. The guard lady said they will start taking drops Saturday finally, that’s if they can get more snow removed in time. So either way, It’ll be a madhouse I would imagine. But also, in 7 years of driving that was my first time ever at a Walmart DC and it showed big time. I was ‘that’ idiot holding the line up

I’m not scheduled until Monday, so maybe it’ll be good. I went by this morning and it was pretty full...
