Unload this morning in Brenham TX. New load comes across to me, pickup in Midlothian TX for Salix IA. Judging by the trucks coming out, it’ll be a load of I-beams. **** i was wrong. Load of rebar ****

Also, with the customer having the word “construction” in their name, and google maps bringing up a corn field. Must be a job site delivery.

Gotta love checking out the birds eye view on a map app and seeing the crops from two years ago... lol

The homestead in the middle of the corn field actually was the place I was going to. I didn’t include that part in post, since that was a lot of rebar to go to someone’s house.

Parked 5 miles away from delivery this morning. Drove in, got unloaded. New load comes across, live load of pipe from Valley NE going to Richmond VA for Tuesday of next week (going home for 2nd daughters 1st birthday party this weekend)

Had to have DM change fuel routing, as original plan would have been a weird way to go to get home.

    One year with FCC
Last week was my one year anniversary with FCC. I got a call from my DM letting me know how my evaluation process was done and when my new cpm raise will begin.

In my one year experience with FCC, everything still holds the same as my first day I started with the company.

The miles are good and steady. When my truck breaks down, and repairs will take more than one day, they send me to a good hotel and give me also a great breakdown pay. Whenever the shipper or the consignee drop the ball and I ended up waiting (Which is very rare) FCC has paid me very good for any detention or layover.

My DM and the planners keep me moving, and I’m making the money needed to really support my family. During the year I look forward for the bonus pay periods.

I’m home today for 7 days of vacation ... relaxing, eating good home made food and watching movies.

Spoke to the wife about buying a new truck gps ... maybe the Garmin 800 or 1000 and she said Ok! (Yay! Christmas in March! LOL!)

Be safe everyone! I will be back in 7 days. Unless by some miracle I become a millionaire!:D

Glad to hear that they are living up to their reputation. I just recently bought the Garmin 700. I really like it so far. Mine was an early birthday present. Enjoy your hometime.

I’m quoting myself on this one.

Customer canceled their order after I got 80 miles down the road. DM has me bring it back to Valley.

New load picks up from Valley tomorrow morning. So much for getting home Thursday afternoon. Gonna be a day late getting home. But in the end, it was nothing we could control. The wife doesn’t see it that way though. But she’s having to listen to an upset 8 year old.

DM tells me I’ll be paid the miles to where I turned around and back, and also the time waiting for my load tomorrow.

    Valley, NE to Fayetteville NC
