There's good advice... NOT !!!... hire a 300.00 per hr lawyer to try and retrieve a 1000.00 ...?????? And then destroy your good standing with the company that is willing to Welcome you back huh.. WTH..??? Plus your already dealing with the issue of high blood pressure .. which is a large portion of the reason this all happen .. I'am sure a lawyer & a fight over a 1000.00 will help lower you blood pressure too...
Good luck too you I hope you get your health issues back on track.

You don't hire a $300 per hour lawyer. You hire $100 an hour lawyer. and then all they do is write a nasty letter to them stating the intent to sue which only cost, last time I did it, $50.

The vast bulk of the time that is enough. If it's not, file in court and do all the filing yourself. Court fees are cheap.

Huge difference between being a 1099 on a lease and being an employee.

I think there are more 1099 drivers than W 2 drivers, could be wrong

Any company that charges you an escrow to work for them, is not worth working for. But that's just me

I second this post. 1000 bucks ain't really worth litigation to me. I agree, he's gotta job whenever he gets healthy again so it wouldn't make sense to burn that bridge. I think our society is too "sue-happy."

    That's probably illegal too.

When I did floorcovering as a independent contractor some stores would hold a percentage of your check for warranty repairs. Good luck getting that back! You had to sign a paper saying they could do that. I got smart and told them to pound sand.

As a regular employee no matter what you signed it sure sounds illegal. Call your state labor department.

Try calling a higher up boss & see if you can straighten it out maybe it was just a mistake or maybe its not really listed as abandonment...If it really was abandonment they wouldnt have offered to re employ you...Don’t automatically go on the defensive...

Any company that has this BS rule isn't worth working for. It's obvious they suck and treat their people like crap and have lots of abandonments.

A "higher up" is a joke. They don't give a #### about their drivers, it's obvious.
