Maybe I started out on a bad note, I apologize, it's my first time posting on anything/anywhere.

I've read through hundreds of post and recall a few people talking about trucking becoming more then a job, it becomes "in your blood". I sat back and thought how true that quote seems. Let me forewarn everyone, I have not driven over the road, too tough for me and all you guys (and gals), are much more hardcore then myself. I definately give you credit. But me being from Boston (we've had *major* construction going on at all times it seems for the last decade), I have plenty of experience on the local construction end of trucking (i.e. dump trailer, lowbed, flatbed). I feel I can drive. I have driven KW W900/Pete 179-127 heavy hauler with extendable flatbed carrying 75,000lbs precast cement portions of parking garages with total lenght of tractor/trailer being 110". Which in some of the western states is probably nothing, but to me in Boston, it's bada$$ =).
I have tried other jobs, like working for a managed futures and commodity brokerage firm in downtown Boston. Some of these guys make $money$, I'm talking like Ferrari, ocean front estate kind of money. But sitting in an office all day, trying to swindle CEO's to invest a million dollars just wasn't for me. I love the open road, music cranking, it makes me feel so much more alive. Maybe I have caught the "bug in my blood" that I hear so many people talk about when discussing the trucking lifestyle.
Oh well, sorry for the rant. =)

Some of us are shorter than others and some of us are taller than others -- in reality.
Here, we're all just hieroglyphics on a contrasting background where size really doesn't matter. Well, ........ except for our hat size. If one wears size small T-shirts and size XXXL hats, ....... see where I'm goin' with this? :biggrin_25525:

By the way, I've checked your first three posts for errors and indicated with (?)(?) those I found. Please make a note of them. Correction isn't necessary.
However, we will need to see a copy of your diploma for verification. :evil3:

Other than that, welcome to the forums.
I'm anxious to read your fourth post.

Yeah, yeah, ...... I know, ....I lead a pretty dull life so sarcasm gets
my juices flowin'. What can I say if I already haven't said enough?
OH! I almost forgot to mention I have a degree in B.E.
    (Bovine Excrement).
Give me time and I'll prove it. :biggrin_25523:

Oh yes, typing paragraphs in the little box - paragraph - typing - thingy, has proven to be more challenging then I thought!

I also realized that joking about peoples grammar maybe a bad idea (after the fact of course =)). Now everyone will crucify me for for my mistakes!

Hey AfterShock, thanks for acknowledging me, I was getting lonely! =) Oh and thanks for the trip down memory lane, I haven't though of AfterShock with the little rock candy at the bottom since school. Cheers!

    Really?!
    Hmmmmmmm
Not too bad for a newBee.

    Why do I doubt that?
    Thank yew!
    Boston? No kiddin'?
I thought I detected an accent in your typing.
I'm domiciled over here on the left coast, about as far west as y'all can go without gettin' wet, --- and what you're haulin' qualifies as "bada$$" here as well.
    Have you tried Bug-B-Gone?
If not, don't bother, ...... it doesn't work.
    HeY, no problemo, amigo.
By all means, rant on. Git'cher ya-yas out.
I, for one, enjoy readin' rants. I've even been known to rant from time to time myself.
    Believe it or not.
I'm sure others here will back up my claim.

Hey, AfterShock, stupid question, could you really detect my accent? People always comment on my accent, is it that blatant? Even in writing?
It kinda funny, everytime I see someone on TV getting interviewed, or talking in general, I hang my head, the Boston accent sounds so horrible on TV.

If I can do it, believe me --- ANYone can.

    Right and wrong.

    U-2?
    Imagine that.
How could I not acknowledge you?
It seems we both appreciate sarcasm.
    My pleasure.
Just watch out. Memory Lane has posted weight limits and low clearance under-passes. Wouldn't want you to get wedged under any.
Actually, I've never tried the drink "Aftershock".
I'm AfterShock, Shakey AfterShock. "Shakey" because I live (too) near Los Angles, known as "Shakey" or "Shakey Town" in Big truck trucker lingo, --- AfterShock, .... well, because Earthquake just doesn't flow off the tongue as well as AfterShock does. But it has nothing to do with the fact that there's one earthquake and there can be hundreds of aftershocks afterward.
    NopE.
    I'm a one-and-only original.
Like anyone would want to imitate me, if they could. :biggrin_25523:

    You're kiddin' me --- right?
One of the many things I enjoy, is accents. Driving OTR exposed me to many different accents and fascinated me to no end, including Boston accents. However, I have to admit I find it difficult to understand that particular accent. I had a guard at a shipper repeat directions three times, once, and still couldn't understand him. My trainee couldn't either. So we just winged it. Lucky for us we didn't get lost.

I won't get into what happened at a restaurant when trying to understand what the waitress was sayin'. It all turned out good though. What I thought I was ordering, ham, turned out to be chowder, clam, but it was Manhattan style.
    Imagine that.
    Manhattan in New England.
    Go figure.

Yup, in Boston if ordering clam chowder, it clam chowdah! =)

Accents are crazy, in my opinion I don't have one, everyone else does.
