They actually make 2 versions. Outward offset, and an inward offset for use with a connestoga, but they'd probably still be more hassle than they're worth at that point.

Thank you, I did not know that. To be honest, the hand ratchets are a pain with a conestoga too. To tighten the strap you have to open the trailer or use a short chain to get the ratchet above the cargo. On a trailer like this, they are the only option. I have a few Ancra straps with chain ends but mostly Kinedyne, the Ancra feel a lot softer over a short period of time. Doesn’t mean they aren’t better or worse but I’m used the the stiffer feeling Kinedyne now.

Theres multiple grades from both ancra and kinedyne. Some are rather soft out of the box, some are stiff. Harder they are, the more abrasion resistant they are.
I think ancra the higher abrasion resistance grade the straps are silvery grey(?)

Yech, if it needs v boards, why are you hauling it :p feels like an extra 250 lb to carry around for loads that (in my past experience) didnt pay very well.

    Nice tarp job though

One time I hauled some lime. I managed, but they would have really came in handy. Plus there probably isn't fifty pounds there. It's all 1-by's.

That razor sharp metal cut right through the furniture blankets and into my tarps. Three or four cuts a couple inches long. I hate learning #### the hard way.
