I don't think anyone is "bent out of shape", just pointing out that we're a tad off subject, which normally under different circumstances would be rude. But as I've said before, this thread has been running for awhile now and pretty much reached the point where it's more entertaining than educational.
Also, because you're new to the forums, I took liberties and engaged you in conversation which helps you build up enough posts to be able to PM. I seriously doubt that ruffled too many feathers among the other members of this forum. Had we broken into the middle of a meaningful dialog it would be a different story, but I don't feel that is the case.
If there are those who were sidetracked as a result of our little interruption, well, ........ what can I say? I'm sorry, get over it and move on? How hard is it to scroll past a few off topic posts in a 10+ page thread?
But again, I don't get the impression that anyone is upset, just giving us a gentle reminder. Can't say they're wrong. Can't say we're right. It is what it is, and IMO it's all good.
That's an understatement. U4EA sure caught our attention right off the bat, didn't he?
BINGO!
Mastertech couldn't be more correct about that. That's for sure!
There are some that require thick skin and aren't for the easily offended.
Good advice. And the key word there is "stay".
U4EA, you mentioned that this is the first time and place that you've ever posted in a forum. I don't know how you came to find us here, but you found one of, if not the best, truckin' related website that exists. As Mastertech mentioned, there are a LOT of fine folks who post here, --- truckers and non-truckers alike.
Oh, sure, we get into heated disagreements from time to time and admin steps in and throws ice water on the embers. As irritating as it seems at the time, believe me, it's for the best, all things considered. Unmoderated boards can get pretty vicious with serious food fights aplenty. That kind of atmosphere chases a lot of posters away. I think it's safe to say that if this site had an anything goes attitude, it wouldn't be what it is. It is what it is because it is what it is.
I'm goin' out on a limb here, but you seem to be a pretty sharp individual, and I think you'd be an attribute to these forums. My hope is that you'll stick around awhile and get a feel for the way all of our different personalities come through in written form. Without facial expressions and/or body language it isn't always crystal clear exactly how to take what's typed. I've found that if something said can be taken more than one way, I assume it was meant to be friendly and respond accordingly. If that assessment is incorrect, so be it. But at least my face isn't red due to a misunderstanding. Although I'm capable of holding my own in a full-blown food fight, I've found it unnecessary to do so here, --- that's where the moderators step in and handle the situation. They're good at what they do and I appreciate that they are.
Me? I never allow myself to become angry or mad. I bend like the willow tree and roll with the punches. Instigators usually get mad when they can't get under my skin after giving it their best shot. Deflated and defeated, they either give up or go away, one way or another.
Tell you what, give us a week or so, and if you're not completely satisfied with what you observe, by golly, we'll refund 100% of every cent that it cost you to join us.
YuP!
I'm that confident that you'll find The Trucker's Report an enjoyable experience. And I'm just as confident the other posters will appreciate your input, ..... especially after they get to know you and the way you come across. Giving us only a few posts to do that isn't enough time, and likewise isn't enough time for you to make a fair assessment of us.
Whudda ya say, U4EA?
Stay on --- or get off?
(I just threw that in 'cause I like Sandra Bullock, or however she spells her last name) --- those were her lines in the movie Speed, ..... remember? When she was driving that bus with a bomb under it.
Oh, never mind.
I'm gettin' off topic again.
My bad.![]()

As usual Shocky, a good post!
AfterShock Thanks this. -
Democrats / Republicans how about that for a reason.

But until I get to know a person, and that they won't abuse the privilege of knowing my E-mail address, I don't give it out.
Nothing against U4EA, that's just my policy.
Besides, can you honestly say that you haven't gotten at least SOMEthing outta all of this off topic conversation? What were you gettin' outta the Swift bashing? It's the same ol' --- same ol' --- heard it a hundred times before, re-runs, whereas the off-topic conversations are original.
How cool is that?
But, HeY!
I still appreciate your concern.
At least you didn't yell at me and hurt my feelings.

My bad guys...no harm no foul..i dig this place..never mean to make waves...peace..

Now, when you say "waves" I say Kowabunga!
Surf's up.
Grab my old Hobie and head for Surf City, also known as Huntington Beach, California.
Fret not, F.Driver, you did nothing wrong.
And considerin' you have what now, 48 posts in about 4 months?
You're still a rookie here.
With time comes a knack to recognize different personalities and an understanding of how they all intertwine.
Me?
I can pretty much take any personality, as long as it's sincere. Even when I/we sincerely disagree with an opinion, idea, thought, etc., I'm ok with that. Disagreeing doesn't mean we can't be cyber friends. Actually, I often find those whom I don't agree with to be the most interesting posts to read because they make me think.
I think................
After reading and thinking I'm either more convinced and comfortable with my opinion, or, after consideration, I might change my opinion based on additional input not known before forming my original opinion.
I try to keep an open mind, and remember not to shoot the messenger,
and ignore the message. How a message is delivered isn't really important, only that it's delivered. Whether or not it's received and acknowledged is not in my control.
But I digress, ........................
Back to this thread that started out anti-Swift, Swift bashing, or whatever it was, and where it went from there. Another somebody done me wrong song, undies wadded up, offense taken, and probably closely monitored by the staff (sitting on the edge of their seats, with ice water buckets at the ready?)
Now contrast that with where it went.
In your opinion, which of the two do you think is the more beneficial?
Whining about Swift, ......... again.
Or
Meeting a potential new member of the forums who more than likely will have positive input, (if we can convince him to stick around).
HaiL!
If nuthin' else, we've learned a tad more about each other and how this site has it's own personality made up of many individual personalities, albeit off the original subject, --- thanx to Swift and a new poster.
Go figure.
Ever heard the word "serendipity"?
Would somebody look that word up in a dictionary?
I think I forgot what it means.
"Awesome"?
Hmmmmmmmmm
My hat size just swelled an extra X.
You're right.
Where does the time go?
This time of the year I do my annual personality 180 degree flip-flop, turn-around.
Say what?
What do I mean?
Well, for the most part, people are jerks and insert descriptive word(s) here......................... January through November. Then, come December, the same folks pretend to be nice, spirit-filled and full of it ...... Christmas cheer, that is.
Yet they fight for a parking place at the overly crowded shopping malls, elbow their way through the crowds, push, shove, argue, and smile,.......... Merry Christmas?
Hmmmmmmm
I'm a nice guy for those 11 months when others are being themselves, read jerks.
Come December, I'm the opposite, a total buttox.
Might even be found bashin' Swift, or Werner, US Express, USA Truckin', or any or all of the others. All depends on how grumpy I wanna be at the time.
It's really just an act, but a convincing act, unlike my counterparts who are also acting (nice) but not a command performance by a long shot.
Then, come the first of the year, it's back to the way I really am, and so too the other folks.
Budda-Bing
Budda-Bang.
I hear that's called "normal".
Normal, I ain't.
And when I hijack a thread, I try to leave more than I took.

Good posts AfterShock........
If you ever get tired of trucking you should become a psychologist! =)
How could this thread be considered wasted? I think these last posts really made it good reading, especially AfterShocks writing.AfterShock Thanks this. -
Do a search of shocky's post's might take you some time to read them all
Find All Posts By AfterShock
OK need to ask the two of you a favor
Lets move your talk to maybe another thread!
We don't mind threads wandering but swift drivers or wanabee's will need this now and in the future for reference
ThanksTexas-Nana Thanks this.
