Is it true that dedicated run drivers are always home almost every day? and what are the pros and cons.
What it's like working as a dedicated run driver?

Just depends on the run.
Last job I had we had a few overnight and week long dedicated bruns. From MI to St. Louis was 9ne as was a dedicated run from MI to Laredo.
All dedicated means is you are assigned a run and for the most part that doesn't change. It could be home daily, overnight once, or a scheduled run from NY to LA.
As for how it is, well that depends on the company. -
Home every day. Off weekends. Love it. Screw otr.

I depart 7:30 pm, return 4:30am. 24 years. Line haul in NW Ontario. No touch, just shucking and jiving to tunes each night. Only expense is a coffee at Timmy’s on the other end
It’s not as lucrative as long haul due to the fact I only run 440 miles each night. I could have a 600 mile line haul run but I every time I consider it,,,,I prefer play to workEl_turco_12 Thanks this. -
Again, it depends on the company.El_turco_12 Thanks this. -

Both day and night. Depends on the operation

O/O had took my truck Wednesday after his truck died 70 miles from town. Not worth the aggravation in my opinion but some are gluttons for punishment
What’s your location maybe we can point you to hell on earth
