I agree. I run a couple 122SD’s pulling Super-B frac sand and liquid off road at 140K chained up lots and they were great. Biggest complaint I have it with the doors on those. We had our emissions repaired and it would never again cause an issue. But ####, those doors were junk.

This truck happens to be a 122SD. 565 hp with an 18 spd and 46k axles. So is this particular build set up more for the tough life of a work truck over what you'd expect from something more similar to a Columbia?

Unless it’s half price of a W-900, why get it?
A W9 will almost always have a better resale than a freightliner, even if it has a chrome bumper instead of a plastic one.matneyenterprises Thanks this. -
Not to be contrary but seems like w9 are heavy for the ton mile world. And turn like hell. I drove a day cab w9 for a week. It rode rough with that 8 bag suspension and compared to my 379 I was used to it turned and chased a trailer in reverse terribly in tight quarters. The ground clearance was great though. Does kw have a suspension other than the 8 bag that offers some flex and cushion? honestly the w9 is my favorite looking truck. But looks don't deliver loads.

There are a few suspension options. I think the Peterbilt Flex Air is branded as the AG380 in KW land. Primaxx and Neway are another option. Both are probably heavier though.

I hear ya , I used to have a truck leased on to a place with 150 o/o’s
I got sent on a regular pickup of Kaolin several times a week because I had the only tractor that could scale the load legally.
My tractor was a international 9700 cabover with the set back steer axle.and much lighter than the conventionals that everyone else had.
You have to have a set back steer to get 12,000 on the steer.matneyenterprises Thanks this. -

That truck looks like it's got the flex air style curved spring on it. I have to say for 35k I'd probably rather have the weight and be in a kw with a cat haha. Granted there's got to be a reason it's cheap. -
I hauled out of the coal mines of western pa and wv for a minute pulling a dump. My advise...stick with a kw. If turning is an issue a t800 does nicely but honestly there's nothing like a w9. Stay pre emissions and pre accert on a cat. Both of mine had the 3406e and were fantastic easy to hit 1.5 mil before a rebuild and high horsepower capable. Id haul 120k+ on the regular so had mine cranking around 1000hp. You won't go wrong with them.

Yep,,got Coronoda’s as well as Cascadias on chip haul pulling 4 axle or B train. Like any truck they’ll fall apart if you dont stay on top of maintenance. Few hundred miles east majority of the logging trucks are Volvo for decades.
