Also how much dockwork are the linehaul guys doing? Or is it like Estes and Old Dominion where the linehaul drivers don't have to work the docks? -
Radman and BeHereNow97 Thank this.

What about pay?
And what about transmissions are they still mostly autos and "very few manuals" for the linehaul drivers, as another poster said earlier in this thread? -
I’m guessing they will have mainly autos.
Do you know how to operate a manual transmission?Radman and BeHereNow97 Thank this. -
I have no manual restriction on my license I tested in a manual. But it's been 2.5 years since I've driven a manual and I was never good at it in the first place. Not even sure I could pass a driving test at this point, it's just been so long. Although if I took my time I might be alright. I would definitely prefer an auto to drive though (I know drivers don't get a choice).Last edited: Apr 13, 2021

If so, kind of a dumb question but let's say that before I start driving, could I hook the phone up to the radio area (so that the phone charges and so the audio plays through the trucks speakers) and put my phone in the passenger seat out of reach, so I could play my Itunes music? Or an audiobook or podcast or something?
Would they go for any of this or is it a hardcore no phone period not anywhere in sight in the truck?
What about eating a snack like a pack of crackers or something? Or drinking bottled water?
Also do they provide a GPS for the trucks if they won't let you use a GPS device on your phone out of reach while your driving (like on the windshield)?
And do you feel like they go overboard with the driver facing cameras or do they mostly leave you alone unless there's a critical event or something?bentstrider83 Thanks this.
