yendor65, I hope you have gotten out of Nashville by now. So who stayed out over Thanksgiving. I stayed out, because I figured with all the people wanting off for the weekend I should be able to get a good week in. And I did, I ran about 2400 miles and actually ran all seven days.

This week I'm trying to go to the house and so far I have two short runs one was 130 miles and the other one was counting deadhead and all was 57 miles, but the little 57 miles paid $150. Now I am sitting in Dexter Michigan and I just checked trucks in the area and I see we have two cargo vans, 10 sprinter vans, 20 straight trucks and one tractor-trailer. My position is number 7 out of 20 so it looks like I will be here all day.

I called yesterday, and they said I need 6 months experience and my Class B before they can do anything for me. I would have no issues with running team with someone to get the training and my foot in the door. I'm not giving up, yendor. I have every intention of continuing this quest.

Who did you call ? That was the opinion of one fleet owner . Carriers hve no problem with a driver training an inexperienced spouse so someone will accept a student . Keep trying .

Hi Rick, I called their recruiting number, and I can't remember the name of the guy who answered (Larry maybe?). I did talk to a fleet owner whose ad I found that was looking for a van driver. All I have to do is get my Hazmat and I can get in a van. It seems like every move I make there is one more hoop to jump through. If they say no experience needed, they need a CDL C. If I don't need a CDL, I need 6 months experience. I just keep trying, that's all I can do. I'm now studying to get my Hazmat. Wish me luck.

It'll take a couple of months to get Hazmat . You have to wait for the background check . Some states won't let you take the test until your background check clears . If you don't have your passport get that too . Expedite runs a lot of Canada .
