    Ok Folks....Long Story Short.

After a Grand Total of 4 Loads ? My Engine Decides to DIE ! on Me.

Yes ! I Have a Warranty, but the Part that Caused the Engine to Fail WAS NOT Covered !

Now I'm being told that The Bottom part of my Engine needs to be Replace with a New Engine which is going to Cost at least $40,000 ! with Installation.

Now, since I WAS NOT Born Last Night !

I Googled How Much a New 2016 DD15 Engine Cost ? And I mean The ENTIRE ENGINE BLOCK !

Not just the Bottom End..... I got anywhere from $15,000-$20,000.

So My Question is ? Should I just Buy An Entire NEW Engine.

Instead of just The Bottom Part, like The Shop says.

Now I'm going by Deductive Reasoning, and asking myself If I'm going to Lose this kind of Money !

Why not just BUY The ENTIRE New BLOCK !

Also, does anyone know is it Possible for me to Stick another DD15 Year Engine from 2016-2021 in my Truck.

Or does it have to be ONLY The Year of the Truck's Engine that's Compatible ?

Oh, and 1 Last thing ? This will be my 1st ! and LAST Freightliner !

    I Will EVER BUY !

The Irony here is that before I bought this Truck.

I had a Choice between This and a Volvo 780 that was in Dallas.

Same Year ! Same Miles ! And I did my Research.

And in the end, Given that Freightliner was a Domestic Truck, and Parts and Labor were Cheaper than a Volvo.

    I Bought The Freightliner.

Even though I KNEW ! That Volvo's are More DEPENADBLE !

    Oh Well.... Live and Learn.

Anyways, I need an Answer to My Question I Posted above.

    Keep on Truckin'.....

Don’t get this, you need an entire engine?

You do know that the engine is rebuildable?

He was probably looking on Craigslist.

Seller: Here it is! Have a look at this fine DD15!

    Buyer: Umm...sir it looks like it’s a 6V92....:biggrin_25511:

Seller: Well, it identifies as a DD15!....what are you racist!?
