I need a radio and antenna/mount combination that is PROVEN to work. After pissing away 600$ I’m mad as hell.
wilson cascadia mount
Wilson trucker 2000
Bearcat 880 are all garbage and not working.
4ft fire stick and above door mount is trash
Three different types of coax
Grounding straps.
Two different swr meters from different truck stops.
I’m not gonna piss more money into the bs until I can get some help finding something that works.
CB solution that is proven to work. Help?

Crapcadias have a difficult time with CBs
it’s mostly the truck not the radio or antenna
search for cascadia or crapcadia CB -

Even if I go by the book or add grounding straps. I’ve tried several mounts several locations it just does not work.
I can’t hear anyone farther then a truck length or two. Even right next to me they say I’m like a whisper -

Angle the antenna forward. Make sure your coax doesn’t suck and isn’t kinked. Use a separate swr meter not the one on the radio.
If you use the Wilson you’ll have to trim the antenna most of the time. -
For what it's worth, I'm having excellent success with the components below on a Cascadia. I talk loud and clear, verified up to a couple miles so far. I'm not the best on the road, but I'm certainly doing well with this. I've had complements on the clarity of it.
Cobra 29 LTD Classic peaked and tuned by Walcott Radio.
Astatic 636L mic
Single 5 ft Firestik II angled forward a bit.
Wilson 18' cable, properly raveled up.
