I don't get this. The owner of the truck determines its capacity based on the trucks ability.
I look at the bucket. Is it a 2 yard bucket...a 4 yard bucket? Is it mud clay or dry dirt? I tell them how much and I roll. At stone yards I grab the CB and say give me xx tons and that is what I get.

They want truckers to run overweight so they move more material for the same rate.......

Well for sure the same here in Ohio. They want means nothing to me though. I have had to let them know the dot guys are up the road a few times.... if they even try to question me that is.

That may be true for you, but here in Ontario, the tri-axle trucks with non SPIF lift axle has been cut back to 27,000 kg gross.

Why would I as a customer pay to have those non spif trucks haul my material when I can have SPIF legal trucks haul the material in faster by hauling more per truck.

The tandem dump trucks are smaller than the non spif tri axle trucks and weigh less, so they carry more while grossing 27,000 kg.

Why in the F do they want it computer controlled?
I drove a concrete truck with what you’re talking about and it was 100% driver controlled with a knob to control how much down pressure it produced. It also had a button to raise and lower it at will.
(Back up with it down and it’s expensive) or try to pull it through mud

    Mattflat362 Thanks this.

Socialism/Control. Don't let it happen were you are.

So it’s not exactly the same. This was a rear axle on an arm with pneumatic controls and came down or raised up behind the chute.

3-400 000 miles, Cam's, Liners, EGR Coolers, Turbo's are the big ones. Seen 1 crank.

Yet the old school guys who change their oil often and run them at 1500 go down the road mostly trouble free other than emissions.
