My guess is your going to find the heavy hauling will mean horrible fuel milage. Low gearing is great for heavy loads where the company doesnt care about MPG. Yet if you plan to haul cross country loads and it only get 4.5 mpg, it will quickly kill any money you might make with a regular truck with an 18 speed.

Case in point. There was a company here in Maine that folded when its owner blew the companies money on gambling. Carlen Transportation of Bangor was running 10 speeds with rears of 3:80. The trucks never got better than 4.8 mpg. When they were for sale, their price was 10k for 5 year old trucks. Dealers struggled at giving them away. Anyone whom bought one was quick to relist it as they were money pits on fuel.

    With that, good night all

If you specd a Cascadia to match, and put both trucks to work doing what they were specd to do, which one do you think would last the longest???

I know where I'd put my money if I was in the market for a truck specd like that.

Gonna try. If it gets farther, I’ll ask the appropriate forum. Just wanted the OM to weigh in casually :D
