That's why it is tempting to say that ELDs are not about so called SAFETY at all. Where is, and from WHOM, the data to prove that they did improve safety? I put put out thesis that there is more fatigue driving than before, when people were cheating on logs. The ELD providers are parasitizing on us now and they don't even keep the customer support jobs in the US(!), at least some of them.

I don't own the truck. But if you wanna track me use micro point. Or that one guy who just keeps popping up every where.
We all know who he is. And he's always there.

There's one called 4 Kites that tells you it wants to track you everywhere. That's the only one I said no to.

What do you mean, they all track you everywhere, until after the load when you go back in to your phone settings and change your privacy to never allow tracking. I turn it on and off with every load that requires tracking.

That's not how I interpret their disclaimer. Says we track you everywhere all the time. And unless you accept it, it supposedly doesn't work properly. So they can pound sand. We have a thing called Landstar Connect that does tracking. They can call the agent if they are that worried about it, or the agent can link them to that load through our tracking.

I turn off cellular data and location services for tracking apps when they're not in use. That's on iPhone... not sure how to go about it on an Android.

As for the Omnitracs, uh nope. Not getting that, no way, no how.
