What is the limit on blood sugar test readings in order to pass the DOT physical?

Do you mean from the urine test or a finger stick test? Cause what happens is they test your urine to see if there is a high amount of sugar. If there is they do a finger stick test and that needs to be below 200. Are you diabetic?

I am pre-type-2 diabetic. I was talking about the finger stick test. I applied with one trucking company about a year ago and they gave me a physical and I think it came to around 200, and they disqualified me. The doctor talked to me about it and I had not been taking my metaformin like I was supposed to, so I started taking it again, and then I applied to another company, and they had me do another physical, and this time it was low enough for me to pass it. I don't remember exactly what it was, but they gave me the medical card for only 6 months. I'm thinking about doing it again. I have been doing the finger stick tests on a regular basis and the latest one, 2 days ago, came up 129.

129 will definitely get you a 1 year card.

If you are not yet driving, why get in a field that you don't know if you can still qualify for in a year?
If you want to drive, buy a camper and pickup and drive.

I have driven trucks for about 3 1/2 years, and I am considering doing it again because I need the money.

If you are worried then don't eat for a week and drink plenty of water and exercise. Fasting for that long will drop your blood sugars to lower readings.

This reminds me of the time I forced myself to go three consecutive days without eating. I was thinking of how hungry I was the whole time, and by the second day I had a severe headache and nausea. It was very difficult, but i made it through.

Go on whole food plant base diet. My son went on this diet 5 months now and requires no meds at all to maintain blood sugar. Better quality of life without those nasty meds

I am a type 1 diabetic. If you watch your carbs it will get your numbers down. Your carb intake should be around 120 for the day.

My endo recommendations is as follows.
No more than 30 for a meal. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. 2 snacks a day at 15 carbs each.

My husband was Type 2 prediabetic and followed that recommendation. His numbers are low now & on the plus side he lost weight.

    Good luck.
