California has more electric and hybrid cars than any other state, and more charging stations. But even with all of that, between 2015 and 2019, 20% of those owners got rid of their electric and hybrid cars and switched back to gas cars. Even though they're trying to push us all into buying these things, the infrastructure just doesn't exist yet, and it will be some time before it does. In the mean time, oil is king.

as much as certain groups of people would like to, There’s is not enough lithium or copper in the world to make every vehicle electric .
The government of California or wherever can issue a decree but the govt lives in a bubble , and everyone else lives in reality.

It doesn't surprise me that Volvo would say that, it's in their best interest to go electric just like most manufactures since there's zero chance someone that isn't an electrician can mess around with that truck like an OO can mess around with their diesel trucks. At those voltages a mistake can kill you and If you have that knowledge you'd be better off being an electrician, so you're pretty much 100% dependant on Volvo at that point.

You're better off looking at what commercial ships do to see which system works best and diesel is still king. It has more energy density, is safer to handle, etc all qualities that are needed for extended ranges while crossing the open ocean.

lithium and copper are expensive, and the amount of lithium and copper and aluminum required simply don’t exist at any price, and the infrastructure to plug in and recharge is imaginary, doesn’t exist and won’t exist for decades .

and Volvo nor anyone else will ever be able to build a battery that holds the same energy as 200 gallons of diesel.

most currently available electric cars like the Tesla hold the equalavant of about five gallons of gasoline .
They can’t even make an electric vehicle that holds the equivalent of 20 gallons of gasoline.
They sure as hell won’t ever be able to make a golf cart that holds the equivalent of 200 gallons of diesel. And won’t ever be able to make one that recharges in 15 or 20 minutes.
And even if they could make one that didn’t cost a million dollars , is every truck stop going to install recharge stations?
How much will that cost ?
Who will pay for it ?
Oh and does the local electrical utility provider have all that extra capacity?

do they have coal or natural gas power plants just sitting around waiting to be fired up and provide the juice ?
No?
Maybe they have wind turbines and solar panels with all that juice just waiting to be used ?
And giant power lines and substations built right next to all the truck stops ?

Yep. All the Greenie Weiners proclaiming electric vehicles is the future with no idea what so ever where all that electricity would come from.

They are going to be up in arms when we have to build a thousand new power plants in their forest to support the power grid.
