there’s other companies paying over $30 hour in GTA. I was offered 25% more money to work out of Toronto. No way would I move to Southern Ontario and I’m originally from London On.

When multiple people post how ####ty otr is, it’s true. Not blowing smoke up your butt, there is big money to be made if your willing to work.

It gets easier. Learn to make the equipment do the work. Been building triples for 21 years.

    That's pathetic.

Logging used to pay about triple that for an owner op. At least it did 15 years ago.

That's pretty good, from what I remember McDonald's subcontracts a company to do deliveries, correct? How often do they hire?
Seriously! I'm up 25 pounds in the last 6 months. Need to do something about it before it gets way out of hand. Walked up the stairs to my apartment today and I was out of breath and it's only the 4th floor.

Take care of your health man, I'm still young but I can get away with it for now. I've lost friends from heart attacks in their late 30s to early 40s. OTR is a killer.

Yeah I work for Martin Brower. We do all the warehousing and delivering. We usually hire in the spring but things have been slow so far this year so I don't know if they're hiring. We'll probably need drivers when the restrictions are all lifted. You can apply at Martinbrower .com.

There is good money out there for good men, who have the right stuff, and know the right folks.
And for everyone else, there's OTR!

I did a-train sets (FedEx) after coming off the long haul, it almost broke me, my body was so weak. But it was a good change of pace as I think OTR would have killed me had I lasted another year. We need that autonomous driver tech so we can hang out in the bunk while the #### thing stays between the white lines, right? right.

I had some Ice Tea come out my nose, I laughed for hard at this!

Yea, I felt like I was going to die day one of LCV. Reminded me of my first week in construction, after the 2009 collapse, and I had to start over then also.

Honestly, they need level 5 Autonomous trucks, totally unmanned going down the highway. Drivers need to be in day cabs doing city and regional.

In Ontario, Martin Brower is almost always hiring, as the demand for McDonalds is REALLY high out there (only place in Canada, with 2 story restaurants) and as @upnorthwpg is fond of saying "no one wants to work" so they can't find people. Out here in Alberta, we have lots of construction/patch guys, who aren't scared of work, so MB is usually full.

I'm pretty sure I already died in my sleep once while OTR, but came back to life lol. I'm close to 40, so I got to get it together here.

    Canadianhauler21 and Flint1 Thank this.
