Hello, I am an o/o of a 2001 Freightliner Century class and lately it makes a loud grinding noise in the front of the truck when making an "L" turn left or right. It only happens when I am loaded and making an "L" turn. The steering wheel does not get hard when turning.
I changed the power steering pump but it didn't fix the problem..
Any advice on what it can be is truly appreciated!

What is "L" turn left or right? I do not understand.

Tires not rubbing against anything?
Not sure what an "L" turn is either? -
CK the ft. spring bushings they can wear out so much after years of wear that they let the springs shift and rub?
BigO293 Thanks this. -
Sorry about that. By a L turn I mean a sharp turn like in an intersection in the form of an L. -
Jack up the front axle and check for slack or noise in the bearings , sounds as if you got a bearing starting to flake ( failure). Any slack or noise - pull it and check bearings and races for Pitts ( flaking ), any flaking- replace both bearings and races , replace the seal while your in there .

Did you change the filter for PS system?
BigO293 Thanks this. -
I did not. Where would that filter be located?
