Had a squealing from the engine. When replacing the belts I checked all the pulleys. Found a little run out on the alternator. Pulled it and had it rebuilt. AC compressor is being rebuilt as well. Hopefully I’ll have some ice cold AC before to long!

Looks like an awesome truck you're bringing back to life.
How come you changed out the entire headlight/bucket assembly? Was it trashed that bad? I see those things on clapped out trucks around here and they look tacky as heck. I figured with all the LED advancements in tech in 2021 you could've swapped the headlight itself and kept the retaining fixture. Sorry if it offends your sense of taste if that was the look you are going for! We run a lot of these Freightliners in our company but they are the newer ones with emissions built into them...always in the shop lolrustyshakelford Thanks this. -
Had a mobile mechanic check it out today due to a persistent CEL and he said I need my ecm rebuild due to the internal battery failing from sitting so long. Hopefully that cures everything for the $700 they want to do it!

I just picked up a set of used super singles and nice steers. Hopefully they will last us a year or two and I’ll swap them out. Pulling the ecm off in the am for a rebuild. It’s been raining constantly and don’t want it sitting in the way in the shop so it outside on the apron

Charged for 1.5 hours and did 20 seconds of work? I would've dragged his butt out and asked him every question under the moon to get your money's worth. Like 45min-1 hour diagnosing and working I can understand, but plugging it in and then see ya later...no way.

added some used super singles and steer tires. Was told steers were 70-80% and it was a down pour when I picked them up so didn’t pay as much attention as I should’ve. They are prolly 10k from the wear indicators. My lack of attention to detail has cost be a considerable amount of money so far.
Got the new super singles and steers on last night. Need to pull and clean/paint the hub to get it looking fresh. Milwaukee 1/2” impact put in the work to remove the lugs. Best case probably been 8-10 years since removed.
We’re getting there. ECM is pulled and getting rebuilt. Asked them to bump the power up to 370-400ish. Full transmission and rear end service up next. This thing has gotten expensive

Been banging out the flatbed. This was one day of work. Hopefully can wrap it up this week. Had the frame blasted and primed.
Excited about the gooseneck trough and having a useful area to load things. Making an access panel to get to the batteries too.
