Posted on here about 6 years ago about going to school. Well had some things come up and took a welding job in a plant starting up. And almost 5 years later I am still here and hate it. Love most of the folks I work with cause just a handful of us originals are still here. I have been able to do some traveling while here to other places to weld some so that was fun. But no longer weld and took on another job here on a team in the weld shop fixing tooling. It pays the bills but not what I want to do the rest of my life. I have goals I want to achieve and I am not getting any younger. So my wife has stayed on me to go do what I have wanted to do since we have been together. I have already paid for my class and I start this coming Tuesday for an evening class. I will still be working my day job and doing the class in the evening. I know it is a longer class but just works better for me. I am nervous and excited at the same time. I have background in the trucking industry so I know what it takes. My dad owned a company and I grew up around it. So wish me luck in my future endeavor.

Plenty of good trucking jobs for North Alabama residents.
Smart move on your part, doing what you really want to do and have the wife support.
Job satisfaction adds years to a persons life.

G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Good for you. I'm good at encouraging people, now if I can just make myself take the plunge instead of wondering if I'll like it. If you're in an area where there are plenty of non trucking jobs you can always get another one or go back where you're at now if need be. I wish you the best of luck. Where are you going to school and what's the cost if you don't mind answering.
