Are they shipping old junky US tractors to AU for this?

I wonder if its true that they ship old junky US tractors to China to use there...heh. other werner drivers keep telling me that one.

    Re: Werner China
They do not have trucks shipped over there from the USA. They do have offices and Werner employees there. They use carriers based there to pick up freight.

It would really be cool if you could get assigned there for about 6 months or so. Sort of like a deployment in the Military. You could get to see the country and then come back home to the good ole USA.

It did sound fishy, especially since ive never seen a container that said werner on it, but...They are doing something awfully fishy with those trucks. They have more brand new trucks sitting at terminals than they have on their entire fleet. The hell?

Werner does not own ocean containers or at least I don't believe they do. They are doing the same thing in other countries as they do here. (No snide remarks please) They are providing a service to the customer. They arrange for the pickup, the paperwork, etc. It's a basic one call does it all. Makes it a lot simplier for the experienced shipper and for the new customer too. They started out with Canada, then Mexico and a few years ago moved into the Asian market. They have offices and Werner employees in China too. This was the newest move.

Re: the old trucks... Most of the older trucks are sold by Werner. Werner is, I think, in the top five used truck vendors in the country.

And for those of you wondering, I do not presently work in Omaha or any of their offices, I am a driver trainee for them at this time.

If they sent trucks over there they would have to be converted to right hand drive. They buy US muscle cars and they have to be converted no exceptions if you want to drive on the street.

And they need to install "Roo guards!"

My brother and his family love it there. They have been 3 times.
