Southbay at some point you get $350 during the training.

If you take you training straight through they give you a $500 bonus. I believe that bonus is paid when you run your first load solo.

So if you really want to run hard work for Werner for $700 week gross then run out of hours and make deliveries for other people .
Talk about a bottom feeder company ! No wonder Werner hires so many trainees .
I do 2 runs a week paying over $700 each and never run out of hours because I DON'T want to run hard . Run smart , not hard . I use the restart just to make logging simple and just not have to count back 7 days every day .

Good for you Rick. I'll bet you didn't make the big bucks when you started out.

You need to lighten up. Sounds like you are in the top tier, or you are owner operator. Either way why not lay off the chest beating and be constructive.

Sounds like somebody else is chest beating saying they gross $700 a week by doing work for other people after they have run out of hours . Figure the actual hours he works and he's working for minimum wage .
I've said several times I never have and never will work for a bottom feeder company like that . I've always worked for small or private carriers that paid decent wages and respected their help . I bought my first house when I was 23 years old and my wife wasn't working . I was grossing over $1,000 a week over 20 years ago working less than 60 hours a week for a private carrier working 5 days a week .
Be constructive ? Quite a few members know if a member has potential and good sense I'll try to help them in pm's . I don't believe in casting pearls before swine .

You been watching "Deliverance " lately ? I can relate that to some drivers working for these bottom feeder companies .

with Werner or any other bottom-feeder it is quite simple. Take a look around at the other drivers/mechanics/management -and ask yourself -do I really want to end up like these guys/gals. Are they happy? Bitter? Do I trust these people?

-over time the answer will become more obvious.

I started training as 1 from two groups of 30 students. After 1st year about 5 remained. After 3yrs I believe it was just me left. Last 1 I saw was Bigman about 1+ yr ago --and he was one that you think would not have made it (same could be said about me I guess). 1/60 after 3 yrs.

    What did he say ?
JB is not one of the really good companies .
This may be why JB is running ads

Sounds like JB is moving away from OTR . The main part of the business going to intermodal ? Do you live near a rail hub ? I know all about intermodal . Crappy equipment always getting tore up and a lot of wait time .
I wonder what this does to Triple Crown O/O's .
