Hey all, Finally out of New York State with a load going to Tulsa:biggrin_25519:! Oh that's right haven't been on lately, since i left Cali for New York,,, SNOW, SNOW, more SNOW!!! Hit Buffalo NY, Still on track for ontime delivery! How many miles driving in the snow??? lost count! Within 225 miles of delivery in Johnstown NY and BLIZZard!!! its 4:00am pitch black, snow very heavy, almost no noise on the cb and where did everyone go on the road,,,, hmm no more big trucks to keep me company... Winds at 40mph with gusts to 60mph! As those hit and my hands locked on the wheel my arms bracing it as hard as I can I check my Cali mirror to see my trailer ( load weight 42,795) hanging in the, well at this point maybe the shoulder. I ask my wife to check communications,,, no qualcom,, no cell phone, nada I realize that I'm now down to 3rd gear going 10 mph, Ive been watching the road, ha where is it, listening to the engine and trying to keep rpms up, downshifting to this point to keep visibility. Now I can't see past the hood on my w900! I know I'm close to exit 52e where there's a truck stop on I-90 and I know its full! BuTTT the Kmart is next door! Its time to stop, WE DO NOT HAVE LATE LOADS!! rings in my head, I feel horrible about stopping but at this point I can't make ontime anyway! I made it to kmart, sitting in Buffalo and have one bar on cell and call in! At this point I-90 is still open. I'm told they will reschedule and call my DM at 8:00am we do and he stands by us.. I still feel bad and try driving again at daybreak, I make it from 52E to exit 48 and the flying j in one hour 20 min. about 13 miles, I give up!!!!! I call in and talk to my DM, he tells me to sit tight drive when safe,, I think cool some sleep,, I miss a window in the storm and wake up to find it has started again,, I need reefer fuel its almost empty, hell there expecting two more feet of snow, I'll get to the fuel island and fuel and go! No way nada takes four hours!!! A western express skateboard has managed to get stuck in the entrance to the J and another impatient driver thought to try entering the exit,,, yup hes stuck to!!! This ##..in sucks! Rigs at this point nose to tail trying to get off I-90 two miles stuck to the exit ramp!!!! I manage to get to the fuel island and get reffer hoping were going to get out of there and guess what a Fed Ex wiggle - waggle does?? Yes u guessed it Jack Knifes on the on ramp! God will it never end!! oh well we got the load in a day late, picked up a load from Walcott NY to Tulsa and guess how we went,,, back to I-81 south to I-80,, I-90 was closed from Erie PA to Rochester NY.. Lets see about 220 miles out of route! We are sitting now in Bloomsburg PA, Hotel room, and If u ever want some of the best wings in the country,, Quaker Steak and Lube!! By the way did I mention I clipped a deer in AZ, had to get an alignment and get to buy a new Bumper!!!! UGG I hate winter! Hey Dabs those caves are cool! Been there in a Centry, not looking forward to it in a W9,, my hoods longer if u can believe it!! Have fun all, we have pics of the storm just in case! Vette

Ok coming up on my first J1 inspection in January, any advise? how long will it take? I'm concerned due to recent shop posts also escrow accounts, It seems that we will never see any escrow back so we might as well spend it, in our time! They are going to keep it no matter,, any feedback would be helpfull,, Also are any drivers out there in a w900 that can help with parts info? Yes the kw shop, not what I meant! I need two front rims and a bumper! Thanks vette

Glad yall r ok. Was wondering where u were. Anyways, it depends how busy they are when u go in. I would call the shop foreman and ask him how backed up they r. It'll normally take them at least 2 hours. Then they will notify you of things that needs to b fixed. You can always opt out of repairs as long as its not a DOT problem. As far as bumper just go shop around. I think the chrome shop in weatherford tx advertised a texas bumper for like 289. Good luck

Curious,, if we are running like the wind and dropping loads early at say Mira Loma.... Who is actually delivering them? I know after fighting LA traffic to get a load in, if it comes to a pre plan 15 miles DH, 15 LD yea right! Dont get me wrong I'll help any driver get home ect. but just tell me how everyone is getting away with it, are we hiring 3rd party so we can all run? It seems that a lot of people keep posting some big numbers as far as miles because they keep dropping, please explain,, I want in on the party! And to outside drivers we have lots of miles!! I'm trying to refine within,, If you are a company driver getting started trust me you'll be plenty busy, busy, busy! thanks Vette

Each of our drop yards we have local drivers there. They del loads we drop and sometimes go pick up them too when its slow. So if u got plenty of time on a load and heading by a drop yrd (sapulpa, ft worth, phoenix, mira loma, lathrop) put in a request and see if u can drop :)

Vette... looks like we're headed for more snow, on I-80 NE now headed to West Jordon, Ut. Hopefully we'll get pass the bad places before it gets tooo bad!Big Yeller woke up with a broken "mickie mouse" mirror on the right side this morning. We would have noticed it if it happened before parking for the night, so someone apparently messed with our girl either while we ate or slept...:/. Nothing better to do I guess. She'll get a through eye balling when the sun comes up... meanwhile we're westward bound!

I don't have exact addresses for the drop yrds but you might be able to google two of them, the mira loma( cr england yrd) and phoenix( mckelvey trucking). Lathrop is northern cali right there on i-5 just north of the 205 split. Yall should know sapulpa lol. And for fort worth its off (loop 820 and exit 15 blue mound road. Go north to light then TR to nafex dr and turn into the yard. )

Anyways sorry yall in the snow again. Be safe out there guys :)
