I guess there is not such thing as interstate travel or freedom to move across borders in this country? That's what makes state comparisons difficult. Countries can be far more isolated and better comparisons. But then those numbers aren't as skewed and make your argument.

Has nothing to do with it when compared in ratios per million people. As far as economics, are you saying that the U.S. is poorer thus more confined in space than those other countries?

They were able to contact trace better because their masking and social distancing measures were more effective. One feeds the other in keeping the virus under control.

Last famous words as you roll the dice. There have been numerous cases of death of reasonably healthy people. Plus it's not just about YOU. See outside your own skin, do it for others so you don't spread it to them.

This makes no sense. What does masking and social distancing have to do with contact tracing?

If you are able to minimize the overall contagion of the disease thru effective masking and social distancing (meaning something close to 100% participation), then you are able to more effectively contact trace. Once the virus gets out of control, you can't keep up with contact tracing for further isolation measures. Thus we were never able to implement contact tracing in the U.S. because it was everywhere, high contagion rate (ineffective masking and social distancing, 50% participation at best). That is why today, getting the virus under control with vaccination is key to further getting it under control with contact tracing in the future.

We didn't implement it because we never really had a plan and even if we had some people wouldn't have cared to follow the program anyway.

Contact tracing puts people in quarantine...away from the public where they would wear masks and distance. That's why I said that didn't make sense

    Agree,
Hummm, wonder why we didn't implement a better plan? Oh yeah, a President who espoused conspiracy theories from other nut job sources and silenced our medical experts. We never had a shot at effective contact tracing with our high contagion rate from the get go.
They tried in some locations but it was like whack a mole, to many moles and not enough whackers.

Stop right there. Take your Trump hate somewhere else, I don't play that game. I asked you to explain your statement about masking and distancing helping with contact tracing. This is about what you said, not what Trump said.
