Also Tim, if you want to read a pretty good thread about what to expect, here's one that was very informative for me:

Smoking and caffine constrict your arteries and raise blood pressure. To be safe just go 48 hours without smoking or any caffine before you test. Also take aspirin to thin your blood a little which will result in lower BP. If you have a BP problem go to a doctor before you go to Roehl and the meds will help ensure you pass there little test. You will be prescribed meds that keep your heart rate down.
kingfisher Thanks this. -
Thanks Etch. Good stuff!

Cinknick ... just curious why your not going to SMTI in Seivierville to get your CDL .... it's cheaper and they are accepted by Roehl plus your home every nite .... then you go to Roehl for orientation (3 days) then out on your evo training.....

GRC, I never really considered going to a local school because I needed the financial help Roehl is providing. Also, the fact that I'm guaranteed a job w/ Roehl once I get through is important.
Think Roehl would guarantee me a job if I went to a local school?
Def something to think about... -
This is my take it on this stuff...I doubt I am wrong, but who the ### knows...
No one can GUARANTEE you a job from school....Not even Roehl. There is no 100% promise that if you finish RDTC that you WILL have a job. It's actually against the law for them to put that in writing...Believe me, I asked them (when I visited in person in Marshfield) and another OTR company that also has a school. I received the same answer each time.
However, thats certainly not to say that if you complete RDTC that you wouldnt move on with Roehl and EVO...It would be a waste of everyone's time if a student graduated and didn't move on....
Yes, Roehl does hire from schools. One of them in Rockford IL for example, is Eagle Training Services.
Attending a private or vocational school does give you more options and your not tied to any 'contract'. -
I know for a fact Roehl hires from Smokey Mountain Training Institute (SMTI) .... you can get financial aid from Obama's stimulus program plus the school qualifies for financial aid .... I believe Roehl's reimbursement program also applies plus your not limited to just Roehl as an employer ..... just a thought ..... good luck .... keep us posted as to how things go for ya ....

Just came across some info on another site and was wondering if anyone else heard of a rumor that H O Wolding is supposedly buying out Roehl after the new year. Again I must stress the point that at this time it's just a rumor.

I live in cenral Texas and was wondering if I applied to Roehl, where I would have to go for training. I am currently in a Federal Truck Driving Institue (FTDI) approved school that is 4 weeks long. Very tough but trains you right. If accepted , would I have to pay for Roehl's training also?
